  • Capital: Port-Louis
  • Population:  1 240 000 inhabitants (urban population: 43%). Mauritius  is a delightful surprise for visitors: the incredible ethnic and  cultural diversity of its population comes from all over Europe, Africa, Asia and lives in total harmony.
  • Climate: Mauritius is an all-year-round destination: a warm and humid summer  (from November to April), with cooler and humid winter (from June to  September). It is mild in October, November and May.
  • Languages: English, French and Mauritian Creole. English is the official  language but everybody can speak French. Several oriental dialects  are also spoken but Mauritian Creole is the common language
  • Religion: Hinduism, Catholic,  Islam, Protestant and Buddhism

Passengers over 18 can carry duty-free products when entering in Mauritius and are limited to: 250g of tobacco, 2 litres of wine or beer, 1 litre of spirits.
Firearms and munitions must be declared both upon arrival and departure.
